Role Overview:

Full-time, Monday to Friday, with regular school hours
Responsibilities: As a Key Stage 2 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the educational and emotional needs of students with special educational needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with classroom educators and SENCO to implement individualized learning plans for Key Stage 2 students with SEN.
  • Providing one-on-one support and small group interventions to students, assisting with academic tasks, social skills development, and emotional regulation.
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
  • Assisting with classroom activities and providing additional support as needed to ensure the engagement and participation of students.
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative approach to student development and well-being.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Relevant Experience: Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly within Key Stage 2, is desirable.
  • Empathy and Compassion: A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting students with SEN, coupled with the ability to build trusting relationships and provide emotional support.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other school staff to meet the diverse needs of students and contribute to a positive school culture.
  • Effective Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues, and providing feedback on student progress.
  • SEN Knowledge: Understanding of special educational needs and experience implementing appropriate strategies and interventions to support student learning and development.
