Role Overview: As a full-time Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing targeted support to children in Key Stage 1 who require additional assistance. While you may work one-on-one with students, your primary responsibility will be to lead small group interventions aimed at boosting their progress in subjects like English and Maths.


  • Collaborate closely with classroom educators to identify students who would benefit from intervention support.
  • Lead small group interventions, utilizing tailored teaching strategies to address the specific needs of children with SEN, including ESOL, Global Delay, Dyslexia, and others.
  • Provide support in English and Maths, ensuring students have a solid understanding of grammar, language rules, and mathematical concepts aligned with the UK curriculum.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, adjusting intervention strategies as needed to maximize their learning outcomes.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with young children, particularly in an early years or foundation stage setting.
  • Experience in holding interventions to support children with SEN needs, including ESOL, Global Delay, Dyslexia, and others.
  • Strong understanding of English grammar, language rules, and mathematical concepts taught in the UK curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
