Role Description: We are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to work flexibly across schools in Hertfordshire with children who have varying needs and abilities. This role would be ideal for those who are studying or are parents, wanting to get back into work, for example and can only commit to a few days per week. At this time of year, we see an increase in sickness due to weather etc. In these cases, we need to have a pool of strong support staff who are happy to work at different schools as and when they are needed.

Offer personalised support to the students with SEN, for example Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour in both academic and social settings.
Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement individualised learning plans and an educational health care plan.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student.
As you will be seeing different students each day, it’s important to try to make as much of an impact from day 1 as you can
– Proven experience working with children with Autism and challenging behaviour (preferably in a school setting) is desirable due to the amount of children with SEN in mainstream schools at the moment.
– Commitment to the academic and social development of students with special needs.
– Familiarity with PECS or MAKATON communication systems would be beneficial.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
