Job Description

As a SEN TA specializing in social and emotional wellbeing, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs, with a primary focus on addressing their social and emotional needs. Your role will involve working closely with both teachers and students to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that enables every child to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with social and emotional difficulties, including those with autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and other related challenges.

·         Develop and implement personalized support plans in collaboration with teachers and other professionals to address individual student needs.

·         Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their emotional and social development.

·         Assist in the creation and implementation of behaviour management strategies.

·         Support students in developing essential life skills, self-regulation techniques, and emotional resilience.

·         Collaborate effectively with the SENCO, teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

·         Maintain accurate records of student progress and report on achievements to relevant stakeholders.

·         Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in SEN education.

Qualifications and Skills:

·         Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

·         Previous experience working with students with social and emotional needs in an educational setting is highly desirable.

·         A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with special educational needs.

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.

·         Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

·         Knowledge of relevant SEN legislation and best practices.

·         First Aid (Desired)

·         Safeguarding training
