Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity within a vibrant school located in the heart of Enfield, offering a fulfilling role as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) covering both Key Stage 1 and 2. Situated in the London Borough of Enfield, this school operates on a 3 form-entry basis and boasts a beautiful building with a rich history, as well as a diverse population of students. This full-time role, from 8:15 am to 3:30 pm, involves providing support across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 settings as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). The ideal candidate will need to have hands-on experience with a range of children with ASD or have a qualification related to SEN or ASD. While the role involves working closely with students with special educational needs, including those with ADHD, patience and compassion are essential qualities.

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Assisting classroom educators in delivering targeted support designed for both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students with special educational needs.
  • Implementing tailored learning plans and employing dynamic teaching methodologies to address the unique needs of each child.
  • Cultivating an inclusive and encouraging learning atmosphere that prioritizes the social and emotional well-being of every student.
  • Actively engaging in stimulating classroom activities to ensure the participation and enthusiasm of each child in their educational journey.
  • Building strong partnerships with parents, guardians, and fellow professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s development.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Level 4 or higher qualification relevant to supporting teaching and learning in schools, such as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS Clearance.
  • Additional qualifications or training related to special educational needs (SEN) or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) would be advantageous.
