An Enfield Secondary School invites applications for the position of Art, Design Technology, and Textiles Teacher. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and creative educator to inspire students in the fields of art, design, and textiles within the Enfield community.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and delivering engaging and innovative lessons in art, design technology, and textiles to secondary school students.
  • Teaching a diverse range of techniques, processes, and skills across various mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, graphic design, product design, and textiles.
  • Fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through student-centered learning experiences.
  • Providing constructive feedback and guidance to students to support their artistic development and encourage self-expression.
  • Managing resources effectively and maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment conducive to artistic exploration and experimentation.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to integrate art, design technology, and textiles into cross-curricular projects and school-wide initiatives.
  • Organizing and participating in extracurricular activities, such as art clubs, workshops, exhibitions, and competitions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, Design Technology, Textile Design, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience teaching art, design technology, and textiles at the secondary school level, with a strong understanding of the UK national curriculum.
  • Proficiency in a variety of artistic techniques and mediums, as well as experience with relevant design software and equipment.
  • Passion for fostering creativity, innovation, and artistic expression in young people.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and cultural awareness in the arts.
