Teach Now are recruiting on behalf of a Special Needs school in Enfield that are looking for an experienced teaching assistant to join them immediately. The role is initially until the end of the academic year but could continue into the new academic year for the right candidate.

This is a SEMH school with pupils from 7-16 years old, therefore previous experience working with children or young people with similar needs is essential. The ideal candidate will be understanding, nurturing and resilient.

The school ‘adopt approaches based on attachment theories and neurobiological research to provide our pupils with a supportive framework, which allows them to be heard and understood safely. Our highly adapted curriculum ensures that all pupils can engage in learning and achieve something to feel proud of. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working, Specialist Teaching Assistant who is open to learning a modern approach to understanding pupils with social, emotional, mental health needs’

You must be able to commit to the duration of this role, as continuity is essential to the children’s progress

The school are looking for individuals that are:

Experienced and have knowledge of SEMH
Experienced supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis.
Committed to a long-term position and the well-being of a young children.
Professional and patient
Understand how behaviour is affected by surroundings.
Able to devise a programme and run interventions on your own initiative.
Able to provide emotional and academic support.
Experienced liaising with the senior leadership team, parents and external organisations.
