Teach Now have flexible positions available working as a learning support assistant in Primary schools in the Borough of Barnet. We are looking for individuals who are keen to make a difference in Children's lives by making the curriculum more accessible to them and helping them learn in their own way. You will be assisting in individualised learning, focusing on creative, academic and social skills.
We are looking for a passionate and adaptable individual for this challenging yet rewarding role. You do not need any qualifications or education experience per say, you could have minimal experience working with SEN students (whether thats a family member, friend or any transferable skills) The versatile candidate will need to be able to create a balance in demonstrating a caring and emphatic nature towards the pupils as well as encouraging engagement of the pupils to support their different learning needs.
The ideal candidates must be able to completely commit to the role (on the days available) as continuity is key.
Qualifications for this role are not essential but experience working with SEN students is ideal.
The schools are looking for individuals that are:
Experienced working with children who have been diagnosed with Autism (ASD)
Able to adapt and think on your feet
Confident to promote the acceptance and inclusion of the pupil with SEN, encouraging pupils to interact with each other in an appropriate and acceptable manner
Dedicated, experienced and passionate about SEN
  • Able to commit for the duration of the placement
  • A minimum of 1 month working in a UK classroom environment
  • Creative and dynamic in their approach to teaching and learning
  • Honest and compassionate
  • Happy to complete training to further develop their knowledge and understanding in education.
  • DBS checked or happy to complete one
