Job Description

Teach Now are seeking a passionate and dedicated Wood Technology Teaching Assistant to join a team a lovely school in the Hillingdon area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking and craftsmanship, a commitment to education, and a desire to support and inspire students in their journey to becoming skilled woodworkers.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Wood Technology instructor in preparing and delivering engaging lessons and practical demonstrations.
  • Provide guidance and support to students during hands-on woodworking projects.
  • Help maintain a safe and organized woodworking workshop environment.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of woodworking tools and equipment.
  • Offer one-on-one assistance to students who may need additional support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere that encourages creativity and skill development.
  • Contribute to the development of educational materials and resources.
  • Collaborate with the instructor and colleagues to continuously improve the curriculum.

Qualifications:

  • A strong background in woodworking and craftsmanship, with experience in various woodworking techniques and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and the ability to work effectively with students of varying skill levels.
  • Basic knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in a woodworking workshop.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to different teaching methods and styles.
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards teaching and woodworking.
  • A relevant qualification in woodworking or a related field is a plus.
