Committed to providing exceptional education and support to our students on the autism spectrum, we are seeking an experienced Autism Specialist to work in this vibrant Hounslow school. Key Responsibilities:

·         As an Autism Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support and guidance to children on the autism spectrum within our school. Your responsibilities will include:

·         Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism, focusing on their unique strengths and needs.

·         Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional development of students with autism.

·         Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions to address challenging behaviours and support students in developing appropriate social and communication skills.

·         Regularly assess and track the progress of students, adjusting interventions and strategies as needed to ensure their success.

·         Training and Collaboration: Provide training and support to school staff, fostering a holistic approach to autism education within the school community.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

·         Experience: A proven track record of working with children on the autism spectrum in an educational setting.

·         Expertise: Deep knowledge of autism spectrum disorders, evidenced by relevant qualifications and continued professional development.

·         Empathy: A genuine passion for supporting the unique needs of children with autism and their families.

·         Collaborative: The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

·         Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

·         Flexibility: Adaptability and a willingness to embrace new strategies and approaches.
