Job Description

Teach Now are seeking a passionate, experienced and dedicated Learning Mentor to work 1:1 with a pupil in Year 1 with SEMH needs. You will work closely with the KS1 Class Teacher supporting general class. The student is high-risk and vulnerable, and therefore requires intensive support emotionally and academically. The School are searching for an experienced Learning Mentor to work with the pupil and act as a positive role model until the pupil can operate independently in the classroom. The school are looking for someone to build a strong relationship with the boy while at the same time raising his levels in core subjects.

The schools that is based in Finchley Central most recent OFSTED rated ‘Good’ school, it is a 5-minute walk from a Northern Line station and has free parking on the school premises and on surrounding roads.

The role is to start in September and will be full time Monday – Friday with the chance of securing a permanent placement.

Earn up to £100 per day

Requirements

  • Support a pupil on a 1:1 basis in Year 1.
  • Commit to a long-term position and the well-being of a young boy.
  • Be professional and patient
  • An understanding of sensory needs and how behaviour is affected by surroundings.
  • Be able to devise a program and run interventions on your own initiative.
  • Provide emotional and academic support.
  • Liaise with the Senior Leadership Team, Parents and External Organisations.
