Teach Now are seeking a passionate, experienced and dedicated EYFS phase leader to teach in Reception for an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ four-form entry primary school in West Finchley. The role is to begin January and will continue until the end of the academic year with the possibility of the role continuing into the next academic year, September 2021. As the Reception Teacher you will be responsible for creating a safe environment to support, nurture and inspire children’s development and learning. You will work closely with the EYFS team and other subject leaders to play an integral part of establishing and embedding the nursery’s unique educational curriculum.

The school is a 4 form maintained community school within the Schools Federation.  In the school they have 4 x Reception to Year 2 classes with children aged from 4 years to 7 years old & 6 X Teaching Assistants in Early years alone!

Situated on a joint site with the Junior school and in extensive outdoor space, they are a popular, inclusive school.  They serve a local community which is socially, culturally and linguistically diverse and consider this diversity to be an asset enriching the educational experience they offer their children.  Each school is served by highly supportive families who share our ambition for our children. The Schools Federation comprises of Infant School and Junior School and has been operating as one organisation since 1st January 2020.  With one Governing Board and Executive Head teacher leading both schools, the federation has a vision to provide a coherent and ambitious learning journey for children across both schools through creative collaboration and our common purpose.

We are looking for an experienced Early Years teacher who has had recent experience of teaching and leadership in a school based Reception setting.

Whilst you may not have been an Early Years leader, you will have had successful experience of leading people and curriculum.

The school are looking for individuals that are:

  • EYT or QTS status
  • Experience in caring for young children ages 0-5
  • Experience in assessing child development and planning activities to support their on-going attainment and growth
  • Able to commit for the duration of the placement
  • Creative and dynamic in their approach to teaching and learning
  • Honest and compassionate
  • Happy to complete training to further develop their knowledge and understanding in education.
  • DBS checked or happy to complete one
