SEN Teaching Assistant – Barking and Dagenham

Job Description

A Primary School located in the heart of Barking and Dagenham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant. Who will work closely with children who have special educational needs (SEN) to provide additional support and assistance. The role involves working with individual students and/or small groups, implementing educational plans, and helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN.

Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.

Promote an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best possible support for students.

Help students develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the development of all students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, SEN, or a related field.
  • An understanding of the UK education system and SEN practices is desirable.
