SEN Teaching Assistant – Enfield

The school are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant to play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs, to access high-quality education and reach their individual goals.


Work closely with classroom teachers and our dedicated SENCO to provide tailored support to students with special educational needs.

Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other relevant strategies, tailored to the unique needs of each student.

Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that all students can actively participate in class activities.

Provide one-on-one or small group support to students to enhance their academic and social development.

Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns or achievements to the teaching staff.

Support students with personal care needs and promote their independence.

Foster a safe and caring atmosphere within the school community, reflecting the values and ethos of George Spicer Primary School.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with SEN.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • An understanding of the principles of inclusion and equality in education.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
