Job Description

We have a large, oversubscribed primary school that is a 2 minute was from West Finchley train station with parking on the school premises and free parking on the surrounding rounds. The school is ethnically diverse; pupils of White British heritage form the largest ethnic group. Teach Now are seeking passionate, experienced and dedicated Special Needs teaching assistant to work with a girl who has challenging behaviour. The girl has recently gone into year 4 and is struggling to stay in class and keep engaged, they are looking for someone to build a strong bond whilst being firm and fair with the young girl and help build her confidence plus improve her level of work. The schools most recent OFSTED rated ‘Outstanding’, the role is to begin ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year with the possibility to go permanent at the end of the year.  This role is extremely important as they need help in all aspects of their learning; reading, writing and speech.

The chosen candidate must be able to completely commit to the role as continuity is key.

Qualifications for this role are not essential but a good understanding special needs is key.

Requirements

  • Experienced working with Special Needs Students
  • Confident to ensure the children are working towards their targets
  • Someone that is calm
  • Able to commit for the duration of the placement
  • A minimum of 1 month working in a UK classroom environment
  • Creative and dynamic in their approach to teaching and learning
  • Honest and compassionate
  • Happy to complete training to further develop their knowledge and understanding in education.
  • DBS checked or happy to complete one
