We’re looking for a dedicated, reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant, to support the teaching staff and pupils at Secondary Schools in Waltham Forest from September 2023. You’ll be working with children and young people aged 11-17, providing assistance in the classroom and providing extra support to those with special educational needs.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be patient, creative and have a positive outlook. You’ll also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a good understanding of the needs of children and young people with SEN. In addition to these essential qualities, you’ll also need the following skills:
– Knowledge of the UK education system
– Ability to work within an SEN setting
– Experience of working with and supporting students with special educational needs
– Ability to create and deliver engaging lesson plans
– Knowledge of learning strategies and techniques
– An understanding of safeguarding and health and safety regulations
As a Teaching Assistant, you’d be responsible for supporting the teaching staff, providing help to students with SEN and preparing materials for lessons. You’d also be tasked with managing classroom behaviour, carrying out assessments and providing extra support to those with SEN.
