SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialising in Challenging Behaviours

Location: Finchley, Barnet, London

Hours of Work: 8:30am-3:30pm

Salary: Daily Rate: £85-£100

About the Role:

The school is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant specialising in challenging behaviours. Working closely with the experienced SEN team, the successful candidate will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with complex needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include:

Providing personalised support to students with challenging behaviours, facilitating their engagement with learning and development of essential skills.

Assisting in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies, ensuring each student receives the support they require.

Collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Monitoring student progress and behaviour, providing feedback and adapting support plans as necessary.

Promoting inclusion and diversity, celebrating the unique strengths and talents of each student.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience working with students with challenging behaviours, preferably within a school setting.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

The ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, demonstrating initiative in supporting students effectively.

A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting student needs.
Relevant qualifications or training in SEN are desirable but not essential.
