A picturesque two-form entry primary school located in the tranquil suburb of High Barnet is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a boy in Key Stage 2 experiencing severe anxiety and school avoidance.

Job Role and Responsibilities: The SEN Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in providing tailored support to a specific student in Key Stage 2.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building a trusting and supportive relationship with the student.
  • Implementing strategies to manage anxiety and encourage participation in learning activities.
  • Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and adapt personalized learning plans.
  • Monitoring progress and communicating effectively with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with anxiety-related challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support are desirable.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
