SEN Teaching Assistant (Specialising in Challenging Behaviours)

Location: Harrow

Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time

Pay:

SEN TA: £85 – £100 per day

Job Type: Full Time, Long Term

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide Tailored Support: You’ll provide invaluable support to students with special educational needs, tailoring your approach to meet individual requirements. Whether it’s assisting with academic tasks, facilitating social interactions, or offering emotional support, your role will be pivotal in enabling each student to reach their full potential.
• Implement Effective Strategies: With your expertise in managing challenging behaviours, you’ll implement effective strategies to address issues as they arise. Drawing upon your knowledge of behaviour management techniques and your understanding of each student’s unique needs, you’ll create a positive and nurturing atmosphere conducive to learning and growth.
• Collaborate and Communicate: Collaboration is key in our client’s school community. You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement personalised education plans. Regular communication with colleagues, parents, and external professionals will ensure a coordinated approach to supporting each student’s development.
• Maintain Records and Monitor Progress: Detailed record-keeping is essential for tracking student progress and identifying areas for intervention. You’ll maintain accurate records of student achievements, behaviour incidents, and individualised support plans, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.

What You’ll Bring:

• Experience and Expertise: You’ll bring previous experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those with challenging behaviours. Your knowledge of best practices in SEN support, coupled with your understanding of behaviour management techniques, will be invaluable in this role.
• Compassion and Patience: A compassionate and patient approach is essential when working with students with diverse needs. Your ability to empathise with students, coupled with your patience and resilience, will enable you to build trusting relationships and effectively manage challenging situations.
